Privacy
We keep as little as we can, we never sell it, and we never use it for advertising.
Who we are
CAT Mastery makes software for South African schools. We are the responsible party for the information below under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Contact our Information Officer at catmastery.sa@gmail.com.
This website
- This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts and uses no analytics or advertising tools.
- Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and time of request) to keep the site secure and working.
What our apps keep
- Exam Timer: your school's name, its subscription dates, and the staff e-mail addresses (or e-mail domain) allowed to sign in. No learner information.
- TimeTable Pro: your school's name and code, the e-mail addresses of the people who manage the account, and for each licensed PC a machine code, the label you give it and when it last checked in. The timetable, staff and cover records stay in your school's own file, not on our server.
- AutoMarker Pro: when we mark for your school, we receive the learner files for that paper. We use them only to mark, return the results to you, and delete them once you accept the results.
- E-mails you send us: kept so we can answer and invoice you.
Why we keep it
Only to provide the app your school pays for, to let the right people sign in, to invoice, and to answer support questions.
Where it is kept
Account information is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which may process it outside South Africa under its own data-protection commitments. Sign-in codes are sent through an e-mail delivery service.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by e-mailing catmastery.sa@gmail.com. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
How long we keep it
For as long as your school uses the app, and then only as long as the law requires for invoices.
